The Crichton Carbon Centre celebrated International Women's Day 2018 doing what we doing best! We spent the afternoon with Galloway Fisheries Trust doing some spot sampling to look at the water quality around Beggers Moss, near Clatteringshaws. With funding from Peatland ACTION we are collecting some baseline information on pH and Dissolved Organic Carbon (which shows how much peat is in the water) before the area is restored from poor performing conifers to open bog. This dataset will also help pave the way for a future Galloway Glens peatland project - watch this space!
